Daniel Mashtakov is a documentary photographer from Tel Aviv, Israel. His body of work predominantly revolves around exploring the themes of faith & religion, as well as community & borders, both physical and cultural. Through his photography, he captures the enigmatic essence of local life, which is often entangled in numerous inner conflicts. Despite the complexity of his subjects, Daniel adeptly portrays their everyday existence, revealing raw emotions and the inherent humanity of the people, often unnoticed by casual observers.

 

Beyond his photography pursuits, since 2021, Daniel has been actively engaged as a radio host and journalist at the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation KAN, where he contributes to Kan Reka, delivering up-to-date news coverage on political protests and other significant events. Additionally, he shares his insightful articles and reportages through various media outlets and his personal telegram-blog "Izya Katka."
