Mitya
Moscow — Tel Aviv “For many Russians the war only began on September 21st"
Most of Mitya’s family lives in Israel. He always wanted to build a life for himself in Moscow. For the last few years he worked as a TV show writer and a commercial producer. On February 24th, after the war started, Mitya flew to Tel Aviv to join his family, then to Yerevan, where most of his colleagues relocated, and in May he returned to Moscow to take care of some things at home. On September 21, Vladimir Putin announced mobilization. After reading this news, Mitya, like hundreds of thousands of other young Russians, decided to flee Russia immediately. Yet, it did not work on the first try.
