Alissa

Zhitomir — Kyiv — Bat Yam “I don’t want to live in a country where the majority supports this war” Alissa was born in Troitsk, a small city near Moscow. Her parents are from Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine. When Alissa was 12 years old her family decided to move back to their homeland. Alissa graduated from high school in Zhytomyr and then moved to Kyiv where she entered the Faculty of Philosophy at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In 2013-2014 she attended the Maidan Uprising in Ukraine and a few years later in 2016, Alissa decided to go back to Moscow: “If I was useful in Ukraine, then maybe I could help Russia too”. After the outbreak of the war she fled Russia. First to Istanbul and then to Israel. Part of her family is still in Ukraine.
